NL200: Bottom 2-pair on the flop
1/2 Live (casino), 9-handed. Villain plays probably 30% of his hands. Have seen him make some big raises with big hands, and normal bets with decent hands, but he plays mostly passively. My image is TAG, on the very aggressive side, but I lost a couple of big hands recently, so he might see me as a little tilty.
My stack is $400. Villain has me covered. Hero has J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button. 4 calls, Hero calls, blinds call. Flop ($12 pot)(7 players): Q:[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]:J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain bets $15, 5 folds, Hero ??? Also, what is your plan for the rest of the hand? |

Re: NL200: Bottom 2-pair on the flop
You are fairly deep, so I'd raise early and get value from worse hands, but at the same time I wouldn't fall in love with bottom two if he plays back at you.
You need to raise the flop for value and protection from draws. I'd raise the flop to $45. If he re-raises, I'd fold. If he just calls, I'd see what he does on the turn. If he checks the turn, I'd bet again. The pot will be about $100 by then, so I'd bet about $75. If he check-raises the turn that's a monster hand and you must fold. If he calls again I'd check the river. If he leads the turn, I'd call or fold, depending on his bet size. |
