8 tableing Full Tilt: CPU usage 57%
I just started 8 tableing on a Pentium 1.7Ghz with 512RAM. But sometimes it freezes. The CPU usage vary from 40% to 80%. This has never happened before. Is the Full Tilt software really this CPU demanding?
The laptop also starts getting really hot. |

you're certainly at the low end of the CPUs and RAM used by many people for poker.

Is this with PT + HUD? While it may be on the low end for people here this setup isn't that old and should work fine.

What programs are you running in the background? Have you recently made an system changes or installed new software? Do you use McAfee or Norton AV?
As far as it getting hot: make sure it is sitting on a hard surface. If you have it on your bed or carpet you can impede the fan's airflow. You can also elevate the laptop (half an inch is sufficient) so air can easily pass underneath. |

Re: 8 tableing Full Tilt: CPU usage 57%
Try turning off animations and avatars. This helped on an old p4 1.4 ghz computer a friend of mine was running FT on. However, this was before the resizable table update. Since the update it seems people have been complaining about lag (lots of posts in the zoo).
Myself, I can 12 table + pt/pahud with no problems. I have an older overclocked dual core but IIRC some people were experiencing lag with core 2 duos which seems weird to me. I posted some benchmarks and tried to get others to do the same to see if it was a raw power issue or what but I don't think anyone posted any. |

I have turned of avatars, gonna turn of animation. Have PT and PA HUD running, but not any other programs, not even virus programs.
I formatted the computer two days ago. |

No lagging or freezing in todays sessions! I turned of animation and also elevated the laptop slightly from my desk. Been 8 tableing and running both PT and PA HUD.
TY for good tips! |
