Don't have ptracker running so no HH or stats. Villain is playing at a few of my tables and seems taggish. Not exceptional but not overly fishy; probably a small winner. He's 3 bet me a few times on the 3 tables we are playing together. TAG image for me.
I raise pocket tens to $16 on the button, he makes it $48 to go...I start the hand with around $350 after losing a small pot the hand before and not reloading. I think 3 betting sucks here becuase if i raise to $140ish I'm pretty much getting it all in praying for AK against this guy if he jams. I elect to call the raise (is that okay?) Flop: 7s 9s Jd I have the 10 of spades, FWIW. Villain leads for $72...hero? |

shove every time. [/ QUOTE ] For value? or do you think he's folding QQ-AA here a lot? EDIT: Oh [censored] I didn't realize he had GS as well, ya I like shoving. |

if youre going to call preflop you should get it in on this good flop. if you even consider folding here you shouldve folded pf.

I'm thinking he folds QQ+ somewhere around never. That said, Hero is ahead a lot of the time and you have outs if you're behind. Shoving saves you from having to mess with a potentially tricky turn, and also sets up other hands where it's a clear shove (spades, set, AA).
Edit: Flat calling pretty much says "I have a marginal hand that can't stand two barrels". |

shoving is best here IMO, it puts the pressure on him, doesnt leave us clueless on the turn and leaves us outs if he calls with a better hand which this bet may fold out

Flat calling pretty much says "I have a marginal hand that can't stand two barrels". [/ QUOTE ] So - doesn't that mean you can call flop and dissappoint him when he pushes turn with AK and you instacall? (Not saying that calling > raising, I think both are viable here.) |
