It might be standard but I still hate it to check behind. I might be missing a valuebet here, how often are we ahead here? Or how often are we behind?

standard but of course at stars 0.5/1 a turn raise means TPTK is usually beat. with a lesser hand and a read I try and find folds when raised on the turn.

when raised on the the turn in this sort of spot I think
a. if Im behind, what are the chances that my hand improves to a winner on the river?
b. if i have few outs, do I want to play 2BB to see SD?
c. pot size...what is it?

Why raise pre-flop from out of position? You're first to act the rest of the hand. Why not limp and when you hit top pair bet to see where you are? I think you might have given your opponents way to much information in the beginning.
