Default Re: Draw Ladder/League

This is not a scheme to boost affiliate business at all. Obviously a common area has to be chosen to play tournaments/ladder matches at. Carbon was chosen for many reasons:

1. USA Players are welcome
2. They are set up for heads up Draw matches (stars is not)
3. They will kick in added money to private tournaments
4. Private tables are available, easy to create and password protected

There is no requirement to sign up for Carbon through my site to participate in league (although it is no difference to you whether you do or don't), however prizes will be larger for the league/ladder at the end and CarbonPoker's willingness to add money to the prizepool for our tournaments will be dependant on players who sign up through my affiliate account.

In order for me to offer prizes/maintain the website etc, I will need to have atleast a small amount of cashflow coming in obviously. Most of this will be piled into prizes especially in the early stages, and some will be used to pay for hosting/developement.

CarbonPoker is simply the best all around offer for hosting such a league & ladder that there currently is. If stars offered heads up draw, added money to tournament prize pool, private table creation, etc I would no doubt choose to play there. And just because league is starting at Carbon poker does not mean it will remain there forever, if another site offers the same/more of what we need for our league I would move there regardless of any referral/affiliate abilities.

Unfortunatly it appears players from Australia and Singapore are not permitted to play. I was not aware of this and will find out why and if there will be any change to this in the near future. Unfortunatly it is very hard to find a place suitable for all players these days.

the why is an austalian federal statute that effectively makes unlawful the facilitating of on-line poker - as poker.com is at least partly owned/operated from Oz it would likely commit an offence if it allowed players from australia

its logical but dissapointing that the same issue applies to skins of poker.com

Don't necessarily jump to that conclusion. Carbon Poker isn't a skin, they're actually Poker.com. I don't think there are any other skins at the moment, so it's sort of moot, but if they ever get one it's worth checking again.

(Poker.com decided to change names because they couldn't advertise in the US as poker.com. Everybody makes them take the .com off.)

I tried to do this once and 3 people showed up. Good luck. I'll do it though.

Sign up through the site http://leauge.5ivecarddraw.com/joinleague.shtml if you are interested. People are often skeptical of new ideas, but as soon as they see others joining they will be quick to jump on the wagon usually. We're up to about 10 players already (a few still getting their accounts set up). My goal is to give another week or two for players to sign up (possibly hosting a couple freeroll bonus tournaments for the early sign ups in between) and then start the league. Don't want to wait to long or people will lose interest.

Tell your friends though if you're interested and they play draw. People are more likely to join if others they know are also.

2 More weeks before this starts, June 17th will be the first league match. If you are interested sign up soon and make sure you get your deposit made in time.
