Stars 180 - Close to bubble decision on short stack push
shaundeeb? ;P
Do you look for spots to really build your stack here or bow out? The pushing villain is 19%/6%/1AF after 36 hands. There are 20 left out of 180, 18 paid. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (7 handed) internettexasholdem.com MP1 (t4214) MP2 (t23078) CO (t11197) Button (t8402) SB (t7194) Hero (t16475) UTG (t11056) Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP1 raises to t4214, 4 folds, Hero ???. Final Pot: t4514 |

3614 to see 5114 ... and you likely have a race as a slight favourite

Re: Stars 180 - Close to bubble decision on short stack push
The final pot isnīt correct, isnīt it?!
I calculate that the pot has t5114 (300 SB + 600 BB + 4214 from MP1). Thus the pot lays you odds of about 1.4:1 (5114 in the pot and you have to call 3614). As a call (and a loose) would not horribly harm your stack this would be a call for me as you are a slight favourite against any overcards and only have to fear a higher PP. MP1 has to make a move now if he does not want to be gobbled up by the blinds, so his range should be rather wide. But please take this as the oppinion of a bloody tournament beginner - who just wants to learn. |

Re: Stars 180 - Close to bubble decision on short stack push
ya - you're looking to build your stack here to set you up for the FT. Losing the hand will not hurt your chances of cashing, so it's a good time to race. Worst case scenario you still have 10k and have enough of a stack to a) get into the $$ and b) wait for some good spots. Best case you have one of the biggest stacks and you've eliminated a player.

Re: Stars 180 - Close to bubble decision on short stack push
Thanks - I folded this one, but call most. I think this is a hole before the bubble when I have a just above avg stack and know I am probably racing...
