It fairly unlikely that he would have a hand with an 8 in it calling your preflop raise unless its 88 or 8x suited. I would suggest betting about t200 on the turn. If he has the straight, most likely he will raise you here and you can check fold the river. But he would also call you here with a AJ or another hand with J. If he doesn't have the straight he is going to think you may have it, so its unlikely that you would get bluffed. If you check, you will not know where you stand and you will have no idea what to do on the river.

Ok so we only beat AJ, KJ, QJ, very small pairs, air, flush draws, and a floated AK or AQ. We no longer are ahead of 88-JJ and even JT has us crushed.

At first glance I was leading this turn because I believe we are ahead of villians range here. Stove:

Board: 9d 7d Js Ts
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 65.334% 64.25% 01.08% 2290 38.50 { QcQs }
Hand 1: 34.666% 33.59% 01.08% 1197 38.50 { JJ-77, AJs+, KJs, QJs, JTs, AJo+, KJo, QJo, JTo }

This doesn't include the flush draws so it really is a little better I think.

On 2nd glance I would hate getting reraised here. This might be a spot to c/c. We could have the best hand and even if we don't we have redraws to a higher straight or higher set even. I'm not a big fan of the free card give away but this might be the time to do it. Besides checking gets maybe air and draws to raise us that would normally fold to our lead.
