Default Strategy for 2/4 limit?

2/4 limit spread at my local poker room.

3.00 max rake taken after the flop no matter how much is in there. 1.00 bad beat jackpot drop.

What is the strategy here? Of course a lot of people winning with junk. LOTS OF FISH.

Was just looking for some basic strategy, that's all, and to know if a game like this is beatable.

Raise hands preflop that have an equity edge.

Value bet a lot postflop with your good hands.

Protect your marginal holdings in large pots.

Really read the book.

It's definitely beatable but not for much due to the stakes and the rake. As far as strategy goes, play hands that do well in mulitway pots (suited connectors, pairs, broadway but not the weaker holdings from early position). Play tight and aggressive and value bet a lot.

If you can move up to at least 3/6 if they have it there. Make it a little more worth it. Not much but a little.

Oh, search for older threads on your subject. That may help you out as well

Patience, position and value betting. Also, realize that your raise means nothing to most of the people at your table, but don't stop doing it.

i believe the wider the spread the tighter one plays...however it seems the only thing different about this structure is the ability to bet 2x's small bet pre-flop and on the flop

its been my experience that these types of games are often played by retirees that call anything and get annoyed at someone playing aggressively pre-flop or on the flop as it makes it too expensive to play for the bad beat jackpot...those old cogers can get really nasty if you mess up their fun--be forwarned but bet aggressively when you are strong on early streets

play your five outers on the flop, your six and seven outers on the turn...bet/play your big draws on flop/turn...good luck
