Re: ***Offical Summer Transfer Thread***
RJ, Berbatov is a sick player. Excellent finisher, but thats price seems outrageous.
"I am just excited to be coming to a big club, a massive club like Tottenham," Bale told the club's official website. LOL OK! |

Re: ***Offical Summer Transfer Thread***
So far Blackburn have resigned Tugay and not sold Jeffers. I'm so excited.
Gerard Houllier resigned from Lyon and says he wants to sit out a year. I though Man City were going to hire him? |

Re: ***Offical Summer Transfer Thread***
as a Welshman i'd have preferred to see bale go to utd as we don't have many great players (obv) and you want to see the few we have go to the massive clubs.
No offence to tottenham though as they are as big as you get outside the top 4 |

thats a pretty terrible idea imo. saha is way underrated and berbatov is way overrated. for 27.5 million we should be able to do wayyyy better. Eto'o for 27 million and saha maybe. but for berbatov its a joke. [/ QUOTE ] There is one big differance between Eto and Berbatov. Berbatov has proven himself in the EPL. The list of pedigree players who have come to the EPL and failed is long and illustrious. Its supply and demand, how many strikers are there at the moment that are of Berbatovs quality? The price reflects how much Totenham would have to spend to replace him. I think Sir Al might want Berbatov due to his similarity to Larsson. |

Re: ***Offical Summer Transfer Thread***
Luca Toni is set to leave Fiorentina, and has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in the Italian press. It would be a good signing, and might light a fire under Podolski.

I expect Hargreaves to be average like he has his whole career [/ QUOTE ] I wish there was some way I could bet against you on this but there isn't exactly a way to quantify the impact a holding midfielder makes. |

Re: ***Offical Summer Transfer Thread***
Flourent Malouda is probably the first "big name" to move. It looks like Lyon may be torn apart following their run of domestic dominance and European dissappointment. The English press is saying that Rafa Benetiz wants him, but is that really the kind of "big splash" signing they're after? Malouda is a fine player and certainly a better winger than anyone they've got now (excluding "winger" Gerrard), but he's hardly going to drive them past Chelsea and United.

[/ QUOTE ] Podolski needs a good fitness trainer more than an emotional inspiration, but this would be a good signing for Munich. Toni's oldish, but he's not got a lot of wear and tear on him. Most players of his caliber have a decade of club and country service, but Toni wasn't a first choice player for much of his twenties. |
