Re: Let\'s Face the Facts, Yankee Fans
The Yankees schedule from post-all-star for a while looks real good to start winning a lot. They can make up a lot of ground there if they can start winning now.

[/ QUOTE ] Jesus the July 12th-29th segment is just asking for the Yankees to go 15-4 or sicker. 19 straight games against TB, TOR, BAL, and KC. The Red Sox don't play Tampa Bay for the first time until July 3rd though. |

If they had a solid rotation [/ QUOTE ] when clemens and hughes are on the team, please explain how they wouldn't have a solid rotation clemens wang hughes petite mussina this is getting absurd, if some balls bounced differently, if hughes didnt get hurt while pitching a no hitter and some calls arent blown, the yankees are .500 and no one would be all that worried. everyone would be saying "they have a sick offense, one of the best 3 in the AL, and when they add two star pitchers they will be even better". but they got unlucky and now everyone assumes the bad luck will continue. |

Especially considering the pitchers the Yankees will be getting back, they are better than all those teams. |

2007 Yankee Payroll
$195+ million for this team???? And then Roger Clemens will add to that I'm sure. Someone's accountable and I don't think George will take the blame. I'm sure someone else has said this but Brian Cashman will probably get the axe eventually. Just crazy to pay these kinds of salarys and get the production that they're getting even ARod IMO. Yeah I know ARod, Jeter, and Posada are having great years but it's insane paying that kind of money $60+ million for three players. But again I guess it's a much, much better deal than paying $64+ million for Abreu, Damon, and Giambi. |

Re: Let\'s Face the Facts, Yankee Fans
I find those salaries hilarious for some reason. $16 mill for Pettite was one of the worst offseason moves this past year in my opinion, there was no reason to pay him that much. Pretty much every player on that team is really overpaid, except Cano, and how Luis Vizcaino is making $3 mill is also quite confusing.

Arod at $17m for the NYY costs more than Arod at $17m for any non-tax team. His true cost is closer to $21m or $22m. anyways, his deal is far from "great" imo. his 2007 VORP/cost: 29.3/ $20m Hanley Ramirez: 24.9/$400k in 2006 Hanley's VORP was higher than Arods. now THAT is a great deal |
