Aye, just pwn my ass if you want to. That's unrealistic hand range probably but it was just an example. I sometimes think I know quite precisely something is 50:50 and that I can flip or fold.

[/ QUOTE ]
We need a 52.5% edge in SNGs (less for turbos) so it really doesnt matter if its 50/50 in a % to win chance. You would need to find out your entire EV (including fold equity) which is too complicated to do on the fly so thus my point that 50/50 scenarios are unimportant and have nothing to do with making good or bad decisions.

Cwar: Say you have AKs, you raise 90 or whatever (make the stack sizes fit the equity if you really want to make it a true flip) and he shoves. You know he shoves with 22-QQ here + AK and will slowplay AA/KK. You're getting 48% equity or whatever. There's your flip.

I don't know what that accomplishes, but I take a lot of those situations even though I feel I have a big edge over a lot of players. I think it comes from overestimating their ranges at times, giving them a little too much credit preflop. You see some weird [censored] come up more often than you probably add into your calcs and that makes those plays definitely +EV.

As for the downswing portion of this thread, I definitely think tilt control is the biggest factor of people in this forum losing, quickly followed by playing outside your bankroll (closely related to tilt control).

If you find a way to control tilt you should be at least a 56-58% winner within your bankroll guidelines if you're reading this forum.

heh, me and cwar had a little chat regarding this hand, and I just came up with another point... the flush card hitting the river makes me even less likely to bet.
