I would bet/fold the turn for protection. Another [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] would on the river would cause much more trouble. And if he raises your bet on the turn, you'll know you're beaten.
As played, I'd also fold the river.

I believe that if you check on turn, you should call a river bet unless its a scary card. the 8 isn't that scary.

Would a pair of queens bet for value on river? I actually think it might do, if it's AQ or KQ. So you might not be beat at all.

I think betting the turn would be a good thing.

You should bet the turn and check/call river.

I like a turn bet/fold at this level. Most opponents are not going to bluff raise here in the $25. As played, I like a river fold.

The bet size is so big that it is either a bluff or a monster that wants a payoff. To call the flop, he either has a made hand or a draw. Of that range, the only draw came in, a pair of 8s now has made trips and most Queens are modest made hands which will often check this river (or bet small) to see a cheap showdown. I can't think of a single hand he can have to bluff with (other than if he called the flop with air). All in all, I don't see many hands he can have that bet so big on the river - that you beat.

I'd fold. I'm sure he caught that spade on the turn for his flush and checked to you hoping you would bet into him and he could raise. I dont think he has AQ or he would have led into you on the flop hoping that another spade didnt fall. You have to lay em down
