This was a bizarre hand. Call or fold, and why?
Villain is 35/0/2 over a mere 30 hands. He has called pf and folded a lot of flops so far, no other reads. Cryptologic Network No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com Button ($51.12) SB ($43.97) BB ($111) Hero ($72.57) MP ($37.66) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero raises to $2, 2 folds, SB calls $1.75, 1 fold. call - ship it [/ QUOTE ] WTF? Maybe my sarcasm detector isn't working....but I insta-fold this. There's 4 bucks in the pot and AK is the only hand hero beats. |

the sort of person awful enough to shove this flop with a flush, straight or set could be doing it with an enormous range of hands villain beats. i call this 100% of the time. im still learning but im fairly happy calling here

isnta fold, 2 dollars invested. There are much better spots to put your money in the pot.

the 'much better spots' argument is a lousy one. it is profitable or it is not.
I'm not convinced either way on that yet. Need to look at some ranges. |

I know your thinking that he might be protecting AK etc ..., but this is a fold. st8s, baby flush, set are likely.

the 'much better spots' argument is a lousy one. it is profitable or it is not. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I also agree that Villian has to be awful to shove this flop, but he's not doing it with anything Hero beats. The reason Villian's play is awful is... a.) If he's shoving for value, he'll seldom get a call. b.) If he's bluffing he risks too much to win too little. The fact that Villian is terrible doesn't make this call profitable. |

it's a fold for me. Too often the all-in is to protect a strong made hand from the flush - even a low made flush, say holding 56c, can push because they are worried about a fourth club coming and someone holding a higher club.
