I definately just call here, on the turn he is only going to be betting with hands that beat you and checking hands that you beat, with the exception on AJ ( but id say his will still check that a large amount of the time for pot control)

If you push then your beat by almost every hand in his range other than AK or 1010(by your description of him and his stats I doubt many other hands are in his range?)

Id be much happier pushing with say a 9 high flop instead of J high

raising flop does us no good.
call and fold if he bets a brick

[/ QUOTE ]

Why ? doesn't AJ fire another on blank turn ? obviously if he is RR only big PP we're behind everything in which case a fold now is prudent.

Is a reraise from the blinds with AJ standard in the 1/2 game?

[/ QUOTE ]

Game is only 5 handed so effectively we're opening from the CO. You want to show this hand as cheaply as possible so a call should slow down AK/Q from a passive player.

Your hand is definitely not AA/KK as neither of these call 3bet squeeze(?) with button still to answer pf as you're both deep and button is right to call again with position and stacks as is.
So if BB is thinking player he is aware of that. QQ is at the top of your range.

His Cbet is standard with AK (or anything else that he squeezed with) so call if he will check a blank turn to you or just push as your call leaves a pot sized bet to get it in.

surely a decent chance of facing AA/KK here?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think so too...Opponent hadnt got out of line at all, and looking at his stats/the way he has played, I don't think he'd 3-bet AJ as standard preflop.

Having weighed up the hand and the responses to it, I think I quite like calling the flop and folding to a turn shove - the only hand he could do this which I beat is AJ and I think he may even check the turn with that (he wasnt aggro at all from my view).

I dont know why everyone says push. This is a standard call.
You probably beat only AK and theres no reason to raise him off that.
You say he rarely 3bets.

Call usually. Probably stack off on the turn.
