well this play is perfect to get most value out of weaker aces / bluffs.
Only problem is if river is a club, which would make it really hard to find a good line.
Whats your play if river is a brick club?

I think that if you checked that turn then you have to call that bet on the river for sure with a brick like that.

played it exactly like I would, except after the turn check by villian and brick on the river, I am leading the river for 1/3rd the pot and folding if raised.

no way a decent player is bluff shoving every single time, not to mention the way this played out and the tournament it's in makes it highly unlikely that villain is anywhere near decent. i think not bet/folding riv is a pretty big mistake, i'd prob bet a bit more than 1/3 tho.

i agree. I can also see myself playing this line with a high flush too and hoping to be paid off.. I never see someone raising my river bet without a flush (unless they read this thread, ignoring the pair board).

I like this line. Im still seeing A J as his most likely holding.

my point wasn't that bet/folding was a mistake, my point was that the 1/3 pot is the problem. stacks are more than deep enough for a bluff-shove.

to chesskid, take my comment as general advice and stop trying to apply my post directly to this board which isnt the best example. i'm just saying bet/folding 1/3 pot on boards like this turns your hand face up and is exploitable
