Default Home game, heads up with 22

In last nights home game tourney I find myself heads up with one of the better players in our game. We count up the chip stacks and we each have around 6700. We decide to chop the prize pool and finish playing the tourney just for the bounty (and bragging rights).

First heads up hand, he wins a small pot with a bet on the flop.

Second hand I get 22 (both black) in the BB and he makes it 1000 to go (blinds were 150 / 300 - not going to increase for another 20 minutes or so). I now have around 6000 and he's at around 7500 (before his preflop raise). I call with the intention of doing a stop-n-go.

Flop comes Ac, 3c, 4s.

I'm first to act, pot is 2000, I have 5000 and he has me covered. What do you do?

Does the A on the flop make you more likely to continue with the stop-n-go plan?

Are the stacks too deep for a stop-n-go?

Shove PF, you have already split the money.

I think you're too deep. You should have a good idea about what would work if you play with this guy a lot. I personally wouldn't bother. Maybe chuck out tester/blocker and fold to a raise

Good point, what if we had not split the money?

22 is a terrible hand to stop-n-go because it's very often ahead HU and the flop is rarely going to convince your opponent to fold a better hand. 5000 behind with 2000 in the pot is a terrible size to stop-n-go because you're risking a lot for a small gain. This is a perfect spot to shove preflop and curse when he calls with 33.

As played, you might as well bet the flop. You don't even need to shove and I would bet whatever makes sense to bet if you had A7o, probably about 1/2-2/3 pot. If you bet 1000, you can probably fold to a push unless he's very aggressive.
