Well played, although shooting him under the table with your derringer would've been expert.

I was playing 1-2 nl at foxwoods a acouple of weeks ago, and one guy at the table asked if anybody minded if he took $10 from his stack to grab a sandwich. Nobody cared, and the dealer said it was legal to take up to %10 of your stack to buy food from the casino. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what the dealer said. The guy must be a Real jerk to make a big deal out of $4 in a 4-8 game.

The 10% to buy food is interesting. Good to know, thanks.

wow. who was the guy?

my buddy once after every pot put a couple chips in his pocket up to $60 and then gave it to me to loan to me so I could play in the $1-5 stud game. that's way worse, and nobody notices.

my friend who does this does it often to get drinks at the hard rock cafe at the $5-10 game.

I don't see why anyone could care about taking money off the table in a limit game, unless is brings you under 10 BBs or something like that. This is super-nittish. I've taken ~$60 off a 6/12 limit table at Borgata to loan to a friend a couple times and no one cared. But someone complained the time I took $20 off the table in a 4/8 game at the Trop.

Ain't just the players that can be nitty...

At Excal one evening a couple years ago someone in the NL1/2 game with $250ish on the table grabbed $10 off the table to go visit the food court. Nobody cared. Poker cashier wouldn't cash it. Apparently, somehow, they asked him at the cage if he was leaving and he told 'em no, he just needed $10 to get something to eat. And they refused to cash it. He came back to the table steaming because he had NO cash in his pocket and didn't want to visit an ATM and pay a $4 fee just to get $10 to eat. Every player at the table agreed $10 out of $250 was no issue, and I suggested he visit the main cashier. Not positive I remember how it ended but I think he just cashed out 'cause they'd pissed him off.
