SMacks of suck bet like mad.

Yeah, I think its a must-call but I think we're also beaten here much more often than we'd like.

Its too small a bet for you to fold and theres no way you wanna reraise with the straight/trips possibilities.

Maybe we get lucky and its JT

Again, usual disclaimer, fairly green so please correct but if you feel the need to do so please justify it clearly so I can learn

Bet more on flop. Bet the turn.

I'd probably call the river raise seeing as though your line was kinda weak

Yes, my turn check indicates weaknes. Is betting the turn and fold if reraised a better plan?

Well you will be leading the turn for $40 minimum. I wouldn't be folding to a raise

Edit: Not that I'd really want to see him raise, but I still wont be folding

I'd bet the turn because I'm an open faced agressive player. I like to attack like mad and it gets me into trouble. I'd bet this turn since its relatively blank and we're all kinds of vulnerable with just one pair. Theres a 9 lays a fourstraight down so it could be a busted draw.

Again, the bet is tooooo small to easily lay this down. You're getting 5:1. If I had reads saying he was the kind to min-raise as a sucker's bet I might lay down here but otherewise I think its a must call.

You're not going to be reraised on the turn I think. If if you are you can lay it down. The river with its scary 8 is the problem. I'd bet the turn and bet the river. Still when I'm on a steal I never min-bet. I'd call he may have been "slowplaying" a jack.

Ok. I'm trying to become better by folding good hands like overpairs and TPTK. I've lost to much with overpais against sets lately.

So there is now way I can bet the turn and fold if beeing reraised? Loosing with overpair against a set is just a part of the game? He had TT

if he jammed in you'd still be getting way too sweet a deal to lay down. I think given this action you were just more or less obligated to get it all in. If you had a deeper stack you could get away from a massive raise but since you're almost all-in after that turn bet you're calling regardless.

Yes, thats the plan next. I've become a bit paranoid lately, suspecting sets every time someone calls me on the flop when I have an overpair.
