there is not a single player on this list that will ever be a HOFer [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. The closest is Ward, and he's far off IMO. Some might say that Rod Smith is close too, but he's not going to get better at this point. |

[ QUOTE ] Guys with 8 or more years experience that need to improve their resumes before making it in: Derrick Mason, Keenan McCardell, Eric Moulds, Laveranues Coles, Donald Driver, Joe Horn, Darrell Jackson, Keyshon Johnson, Eddie Kennison, Amani Toomer, Rod Smith, Ricky Proehl(lol), Hines Ward (although I think Ward is getting close with considertion of playing in the Steelers Offense) [/ QUOTE ] there is not a single player on this list that will ever be a HOFer [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say any were. I was simply naming guys with eight years or more and decent numbers, however, I wouldn't count Ward out, yet. |

Don't underestimate the role winning titles will play in the Rod Smith discussion. Teams with multiple SB runs are usually heavily represented in the HoF.
Also, whoever is making the case for him will play up the fact he was an undrafted FA who had to wait a long time just to get a shot. His career numbers become a lot more impressive when you realize that he spent a year on the practice squad and 2 more on the bench before he got a shot. In not saying hes a lock or anything, just that its a lot closer than you think. |
