If I can get off work early enough I plan on playing in the tourney at Gold Strike Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure it starts at 11am.

$40 entry starting with 1k in chips. $20 rebuy when you have 1k in chips or less. If you go broke you can do a single or double rebuy.

After 1 hour you can do a single ($20 gets you 2k in chips) or double (40 for 4k). Then it's a freezeout.

Usually 1st is near 2k

I wanted to add my .02 about the Grand and getting their rooms for free...

When i booked a comped room a couple of months ago, the lady on the phone told me i was booked for the Tower hotel because it was the only thing open (this is the hotel connected to the casino), I never knew that I could get those rooms for free with the regular comp mailings.

Since then, I always ask for a tower hotel room instead of the veranda or terrace. You would still have to drive to the shoe or GS, but if you're playing at the grand its really convenient (no shuttle ride or long walk from parking lot).

A couple things to note on this, the only rooms ive been able to get at the tower hotel are smoking rooms with a King bed, but we were able to get rollaway beds for free by just asking at checkin, and also, it usually seems as though these comped rooms go pretty fast, so you may need to book with some time in advance (i'd say atleast a week). Good luck all

Ive stayed at the Grand like 614 times and never was able to get the Tower. I'm envious, very envious because I'm pretty lazy.

Default HORSESHOE TUNICA--game list , still using clipboard?

Does Horseshoe Tunica have an electronic sign-up board, or is staff still using the 'ol clipboard for the poker list?
(Any rooms in Tunica with an electronic board for the poker list?)

Shoe and GS still have the clip-board.
Kind of silly.

Not sure on the other romms but I assume they have nothing of the 21st century either.

I thought chipr777 reported that the Horseshoe was going to get pagers and wait-lists on monitors and all that good stuff shortly after they opened the new room.
Obviously it's taken them quite awhile to get around to that.

[/ QUOTE ] We do have pagers. We also have the program for an electronic list but the old clipboard just works better.

Yeah. I thought you might have pagers but I couldn't remember for sure.
I've never been offered one.

The old clipboard might work better for you guys.
But I think the electronic list looks classier and more professional.
And I think players like to be able to see where they are on the list without having to peer around the desk and feel like they are intruding.

I saw the pagers when I was there and wished they'd been used. It was fairly early, before lunch on a weekday. I'm not a slot player but the video poker machines nearby were calling my name because I was bored but I was scared to leave the room for fear I wouldn't hear my name called.

The Shoe in Shreveport uses the electronic boards and it's awesome. I love being able to not only be able to see where I am on the list but also what all the games are going.

I wish the rooms in Tunica would use an electronic board but I could understand them not since they're generally smaller than most rooms in Vegas, AC, Commerce, etc & don't get a ton of action during the week. May not be cost efficient.

I asked someone at the GS yesterday about the elec boards and he said that sounded like a good idea but it would require more staff.
