Default First Trip to Vegas

Greetings. I am making my first trip to Vegas. Up to this point, I only have limited MTT experience at small card rooms & at Bay 101. What kind of adjustments may be needed in order to avoid wearing a barrel out of town?

You need to be more specific to get any practical advice so people don't have to make assumptions. For instance: What are you looking to play? Tournaments(I'm assuming) or Cash games. What game Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, etc. Limit or No Limit? And at what stakes? Tournaments Under $100 between $100-$300,
Cash games 4-8 limit, 1-2NL, etc.

Thanks Spyu. I'm primarily looking for STT or MTT at PL, NL, or Spread under $100. My primary objective is to test my abilities against the presumably tougher competition there. I know there will be differences in the quality of play there as compared to the NorCal rooms with similar Buy-in/EF that I currently play in.

I have very minimal live experience with cash games. I have played $3/$6 LHE with mixed results, but have primarily studied NLHE theory. I probably will avoid LHE this trip.

My impression is that your competition at small-buy tournaments in Vegas will be inferior to that in the Bay Area, not superior.

The competition IS NOT TOUGHER HERE----------
this is not the POKER CAPITOL of the world.
Play like you do at Bay 101 and you will be just fine-----

The tourneys you are looking to play will be of same caliber as any others you have played if not worse. Under $100 tourneys are filled with players who are bad and those who think they are good but are realy bad and few good players. Check out Planet Hollywood, and Caeser's Palace as they have pretty decent structure in their tourneys for under 100.

Agree with the above. If you want to mix it up a bit, try the under $100 tourneys, maybe a Caesars noon, and if you hit anything, you should try a Venetian deepstack. They are tons of fun compared to the fast structure/low chip Bay 101 tourneys.

Thanks all. Bay 101 structure practically forces aggression, which has caused me issues AF. I'm staying at Treasure Island (group rate) so the Venetian is right there. I didn't even think about places off the strip. What other places are good for U$100 MTTs & STTs?
