The last two LOST season finales were probably some of the best ever of any TV show.
I recall X-Files having one or two great season finales. Buffy and Angel both have had good ones. Basically any well written heavily serialized show is usually going to have a kickass season finale...unless it is written by Tim Kring.

The season finale of The Office was amazing. Pam at the end was brilliant and it opened up all sorts of cool possibilities for next season. Kevin was awesome in the episode, too.
The second season finale of Office is one of my favorite television episodes of all time, though.

[/ QUOTE ] I watch TV too sporadically to be too disappointed but, like many posters, I thought the Office finale was fine. I don't know if people just don't like Scrubs, but I thought based on the criteria of leaving the season hanging, that finale would leave people pissed. But I think cliffhangers are great and Scrubs did a great job, really makes me want to watch the next season obvi. cause granted you could see it coming but still.

And granted, I haven't seen The Wire.

And granted, I haven't seen The Wire. [/ QUOTE ] Do it, and do it now. As for The Wire, my favorite finale episode was S2, which was my least fave season, but the montage at the end was ludicrous. (The "Fast Train" montage at the end of S1 was also outstanding) Also:  Lost was really, really, really good. I usually hate the Jack episodes but this one was awesome. The finale of S4 of The Shield (the one where Lem and Shane almost brawl) rules.
