$1mill Hand, I think I could\'ve laid it down
So here's the situation, I've been relatively tight at the table and so has $30k. I know he's a solid player but what can he really have here?
PokerStars Game #4109234592: Tournament #19571119, Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2006/02/26 - 18:33:45 (ET) Table '19571119 341' Seat #5 is the button Seat 1: classyploppy (9415 in chips) Seat 2: WPThero (3585 in chips) Seat 3: Goral (12900 in chips) Seat 4: $30K (5220 in chips) Seat 5: SEABOURNE (9875 in chips) Seat 6: nd2000 (4930 in chips) Seat 7: pinocchio2 (2226 in chips) Seat 8: Roothlus (5385 in chips) Seat 9: unluckyliz (8675 in chips) nd2000: posts small blind 100 pinocchio2: posts big blind 200 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Roothlus [Kh Ad] Roothlus said, "yea ive just been chillin" Roothlus: raises 400 to 600 unluckyliz: folds classyploppy: calls 600 WPThero: folds Goral said, "lol" Goral: folds $30K: calls 600 SEABOURNE: folds nd2000: folds WPThero said, "haha" pinocchio2: folds *** FLOP *** [5h 8d Ks] At this point, I'm not that happy with 3-way action with AK but when the K flops all that tension is relieved. Roothlus: bets 1400 classyploppy: folds $30K: calls 1400 Now, I'm weary of his flop cold call. I mean what is he calling with? I think I was hoping he had KQ out of desperation of my hand being good. I decided to check here basically in fear of him having 88 or 66. I decided the way I know if he has KQ or 88 is if he puts me allin on the turn then he has KQ or even AK. And anything else he probably has 88 or 66. *** TURN *** [5h 8d Ks] [6s] Roothlus: checks $30K: bets 1200 Now he bets 1200 and I think I got stubborn here and decided to call him down with the weak bet for basically all my chips. This bet just screeeeams 88. Roothlus: calls 1200 *** RIVER *** [5h 8d Ks 6s] [As] I'm 100% sure he doesnt have the flush but I really dont have a good feeling about the hand. The Ace really sucked me in a bit more and now I probably have to call just because of pot odds. But I mean he's definitely not betting KQ at this point, so clearly I'm beat and I still call. Roothlus: checks $30K: bets 1200 Roothlus: calls 1200 *** SHOW DOWN *** $30K: shows [8s 8h] (three of a kind, Eights) Roothlus: mucks hand Roothlus said, "ugh" $30K collected 9700 from pot Roothlus said, "shoulda folded" Roothlus said, "knew it" *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 9700 | Rake 0 Board [5h 8d Ks 6s As] Seat 1: classyploppy folded on the Flop Seat 2: WPThero folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: Goral folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 4: $30K showed [8s 8h] and won (9700) with three of a kind, Eights Seat 5: SEABOURNE (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 6: nd2000 (small blind) folded before Flop Seat 7: pinocchio2 (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 8: Roothlus mucked [Kh Ad] Thoughts on how I played the hand? I don't think I'm being results-based. I think I was just being stubborn. |

Re: $1mill Hand, I think I could\'ve laid it down
Very tough spot; I don't think I'm folding AK here in an online tourney. Just too many random players out there.
