JJ deep
Villain is unknown.
I felt completely paralyzed in this hand. What would you do different, if anything? Re: JJ deep
I'd probably raise flop and see what villian does.
Now you are just calling without any info. I think raising the flop and folding to a reraise is cheaper than calling like this. |

Re: JJ deep
I like raising the flop, too. You have no idea where he is in this hand and you are not strong enough to call down.

Re: JJ deep
hmm... that's though. Here I think it really comes down to what hands villian would be raising with... Have you seen him bet AK/AQ this way? I don't think any player would bet every street with that. Could he have called with A-10? Probably not, right? Now it's difficult to fold, cause he's giving you good pot odds on all streets. But my guess is that most players would have a overpair here, and for that matter there's not much you beat. I think QQ-AA is very likely.
I think you played it fine. Normally river would be a fold IMO, but it's almost 4 to 1 in potodds, so the call is okay. Maybe raising on flop would be an idea, to know where you're at. If he calls or raises again, you know you're probably up against a higher PP or a set, and not just a c-bet. The main thing here, as I see it, is that since you don't know the villian, you have to do something to get information. A raise on flop, to say 15, would be a cheaper way than calling bets until the end. |

Re: JJ deep
Raising flop and folding to a reraise is horrible. You played it goot.

Re: JJ deep
Didn't see two spades on board, which gives the possibility that he has a FD and is donking with it, which could make the raise not terrible if that is indeed what he has. However, chances are he wont fold to a raise if he has it and you just bloated the pot without finding out anything, since sets/overpairs could just call as well. Also if he plays his FD aggro, he could be folding you off the best hand. Unless the guy is bad, then the raise folds out worse hands like A10 and has better hands calling you. I would probably fold turn though since you have repped the overpair and he didn't care, esp since villain is unknown.

Re: JJ deep
FWIW villain paused for a bit before his river bet.
Other two bets were fairly quick. |

Re: JJ deep
I'd play this the exact same, however I dont know if like your pre flop re-raise. You have a medium/high pocket pair and I hate creating huge pots with them.
