Too bad you couldn't go during the holidays and fire up a few Nog-a-sake's.

They are pretty sweet. I think it's a fun thing to do with a group of couples.

Shintaro is better for sushi, not tepenyaki. Bennihannas has cut down on the cheeseyness, and is just really good tasting food, its a good second date for a girl, or just good food for you and the boys.

I've never been to a Benihana, but I've been to this style of restaurant before. Cheesy, but enjoyable.

This sums it up pretty well. As long as you only go when yu're really in the mood for it it's awesome.

Overpriced for the quality of food. You're definitely paying for the show too.

It's definitely not all that cheap for the quality of the food. But there's a big variation in price at this level of food quality, so it's hard to fault that too much. Stuff was like $25-30 for your average dinner entree at the one I recently went to. They had a $8.00 lunch that was very good, too, which I had a couple times.

Me and the GF go once every month or about to one in the Buffalo area called Shogun and we always have a blast.
Its better go with a large group (4-5 people) and get a Chef all to your self. It's pretty entertaining and the food is generally decent. Drinking is highly encouraged.(by me). if you do not go with a bunch of people you will be sat next to other couples etc literally right next to you so prepare to make friends.

Love the stuff. Non chain teppanyaki places seem to be priced better and I find the food to be just as good or better in some cases.

I just saw a commercial for a place like this except they advertised having your own private grill instead of 10 people around one big one. Not sure if that would be better or worse.

Either way, I really like all the the food they cook this way.
