Re: Graphic novel recommendations?
Watchmen should pretty much definitely comes first - quote from Wiki:
"In 2005, Time magazine placed Watchmen on its list of the 100 Greatest English Language Novels from 1923 to the Present, stating that it was 'told with ruthless psychological realism, in fugal, overlapping plotlines and gorgeous, cinematic panels rich with repeating motifs...a heart-pounding, heartbreaking read and a watershed in the evolution of a young medium.'" Also, do you now see what a waste Nicholson's Joker is? |

Re: Graphic novel recommendations?
Sandman and Lucifer look exactly like what I was looking for - Thanks a mil, will likely pick up Watchmen also based on the strength of the reviews.

Re: Graphic novel recommendations?

Y The Last Man [/ QUOTE ] This is the only questionable one for me of all the posts, and this is coming from a guy who owns the first 5 TPB's. Its just very narrow in who it appeals to imho, and I both love and hate it at different times. It's similar to why I don't suggest Cerebus to people any more. Another excellent one now that I think about it: Orbit. I seriously have over a hundred Graphic Novels at my house. Is there interest in me doing short reviews of the different one's, or a much long length of time but more indepth reviews of some of them? Ray |

For me, the series was perfect, I got all the jokes, references, etc, and loved the main character. (I'm talkin bout Y, obv, not Cerebus) |

Re: Graphic novel recommendations?
Ghost World
Probably better if you’ve never seen the movie. It captures teenage angst better then any thing else I’ve read. |
