Default JJ overpair played passively - 1/2 FTP

I've played quite a bit with this guy, he is a semi multitabler but not anyone I particularly have that much respect for - he is pretty passive preflop but sometimes aggro's it up a bit more postflop.

He is running 19/7/4 over more than 5k hands.

Who would take my line, and who would play this differently?

I think I would of bet out on the turn. I don't know how often the vill is double barreling against you on the turn with just overs after you called that flop. So if you your hopes were to check and grab an extra bet from vill I think you would in fact be behind fairly often to overs and a club draw. If he called your bet I would check/fold river and would definitely dump if he raised you on the turn.

I would have taken the action somewhere, either raising on the flop or leading out on the turn. Most likely leading out on the turn but it would have been player specific.
Had I for some reason played it like you to the river, I would have bet 1/2 pot on the river, folded to a raise. Had I played it like you all the way to his river bet I would have called and the info gained from seeing his hand I would regard as very valuable.

What hands do you expect to beat and call with when you bet half the pot on the river? Not only that, if we think our vill is capable of bluffing us on the river after the check, check on the turn, wouldn't we rather check/call the river hopping he bluffs?

I'm not trying to come across as rude but I'm confused as to why you are betting half the pot here on the river? I feel like vill is only going to call with a better hand most of the time and you are also going to get raised as well sometimes.

Simply as a stopping bet attempt, keep him from betting more and we have to call an even larger bet, as it happened...
Because at least I wouldn't leave this river uncalled to any reasonable bet.
