Thanks for all the replies and discussion, it's very helpful. I'm leaning towards staying at the Tropicana now, it sounds like a nice hotel with a variety of restaurants and good poker room. How far of a walk is it down the boardwalk to say the Taj Mahal?

[/ QUOTE ]

Trop and Taj are on opposite sides of the boardwalk. reference the pic in an earlier post in this thread. A nice leisurely rick shaw ride from one to the other will take a good 15-20 minutes.

Since you there to see the sites, the 20-30 walk from Trop to Taj will give you a good idea of the flavor of the Boardwalk. If you play after midnight on a week night, I'd strongly recommend cabbing it back to the Trop. Oh yeah, the rickshaw ride is also a good option.

Hi Don,

Visit the White House Sub Shop for lunch. They are located at 2301 Arctic Ave Atlantic City, NJ. Very notalgic place for pretty tasty subs.

Great sandwiches, but when the old Italian dude makes your sandwich without hand coverings it's pretty gross.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Irish Pub rooms? I might be spending a lot of time in AC this summer (commuting from DC to play) and staying for 3-5 day stretches, and their rates look pretty awesome. I really don't mind a tiny, rathole of a room, just basically need a place to catch a few hours and shower up, since I'll be there to play not vacation. What is the availability like? Any reviews?

Yes. Take the #2 route. It's a bit slow though, because it goes to Trump Marina and Harrah's first, and stops a bunch of times b/w the boardwalk and marina.

That's what makes it the White House "Special".

We asked the same question last time in AC.
We ended up at the Irish pub after a few long sessions and noticed the cheap room rates.
