Default Re: [25NL] Top pair top kicker (AQ) in position

The main reason I posted this hand was because after this happened:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO ($25)
Hero ($48.60)
SB ($9.20)
BB ($26.15)
UTG ($41.40)
MP ($24.65)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero calls $1, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($2.35) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $1</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, UTG calls $3.

Turn: ($10.35) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $7.5</font>, UTG calls $7.50.

River: ($25.35) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $14</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $28.9</font>, Hero calls $14.90.

Final Pot: $83.15

UTG has Kh Kc (one pair, kings).
Hero has Qs Ad (one pair, queens).
Outcome: UTG wins $83.15.

.. I thought maybe a 3bet PF would provide more information about his hand (he might 4bet, or I may check behind on the river being affraid of kings or aces). Do you think this has any value? Of course he played this just bad, but it worked this time.

I put him on KK before you posted the results. People saying that this river is a bet - what are you planning to see here? KQ? QJ? Doubt it. You really think that he calls two streets with a hand like TT/99 here? I dont. I check behind this river all day.

Also, I think villain has played this really well, he basically just rode your aggression on a safe-ish board (relative to your range - you cant have QQ here), and profited from your mistake in overplaying one pair.

Do you also like his river check/raise? I wouldn't dare to go for a check/raise because I miss a lot of value if Hero checks behind.

He made a good read that hero would play top pair for value, and got paid off. If I had the read that my opponent was the kind of person to go three streets, id check the river too.
