Shortness alone isn't the problem. Some of the biggest stud males in Hollywood are in the 5'3" to 5'7" range. My advice for this guy:

(1) Aggressively diet, get in shape, get a good haircut, etc. Perfect your health and physical appearance. This will lead to greater confidence, self-respect, and, in turn, chick attraction.

(2) Get a stable career path in order. This may take some trial and error. At 34 he's too old to get into something really competitive like finance, but he could at least get into something like being a pharmacutical rep or something like that, which is pretty solid.

(3) Obtain a therapist. This is beyond obvious.

The guy is never going to be a star, but there is no reason why anyone who puts in the effort can't get some enjoyment out of life. Sounds like he isn't motivated to even try.

I'd start with the gym. Losing the weight and getting yourself feeling energetic and aerodynamic goes a long way to accomplishing everything else.

There is a heck of a lot to this. Many of them are not nearly as demanding.

I think I might cut and paste your 3 points trapsetter. Those sound solid. He's a paralegal so that's not too bad of a career path right?

Also, this foreign girl thing is an interesting idea. Maybe mail order bride? Ha ha ha.

The only way to fix this guy's [censored] up life is to get him to admit he has a [censored] up life. Until then, the guy's just gonna be a loser for the rest of his life.

I'm no social butterfly, but even I go out and socialize with people.
