Default Re: supernova elite, MTTs, and \"rakeback\"!

[ QUOTE ]
Total FPP on sunday = 615 FPP or 18450 per month (30 days) at basic level (not silver, gold, etc) but times it with 4 at elite level = 73800 points per month 0r 885600 per year.

[/ QUOTE ]

your math here says that you can take these points, and multiply them by 4 at the elite level to get 73,800 / month, or 885k per year. And that gets you close to supernova elite.

You can't do that math, because the points that count for the levels - silver, gold, etc - are not multiplied by four. Only the base points count.

So by way of example, starting January 1, if I collect 1,000 VPPs, I have:

1,000 VPPs
1,000 FPPS.

I collect 500 more points, I am promoted to silverstar. I now have:
1,500 VPPs
1,500 FPPs.

I now start collecting FPPs at a rate of 1.5X because of the silverstar bonus. So I collect another 2,500 BASE VPPs that month, I now am Goldstar, and I have:

4,000 VPPs
5,250 FPPs. (1,500 originally, plus 2,500 * 1.5 silver bonus).

I now need 6,000 VPPs to qualify for Platinum. In getting those 6,000 VPPs, I'll accumulate 12,000 FPPs because of the bonus for goldstar.

So your math of 4X the points getting you closer to Supernova Elite doesn't qualify - you don't get bonus VPPs, just bonus FPPs.

Make sense now?

Yes, But somewhere on pokerstars I read that for each FPP, you ain a VPP.

So, I assumed that this is the case.

But, if what u said is true I need to go over my analysis again. Let me check it out and reply.

btw, i dont have a stars account yet as i play on other sites at the moment. but i am starting there.

Just FYI the first four replies in this thread are from high volume, high stakes players and they are saying it can't be done from their own experiences. They're not merely saying this out of nowhere so you can save yourself the trouble having to go through the calculations. You'll find exactly what the prior high stakes posters already told you - it can't be done playing just MTTs.

if you are a high volume player (significantly more than 20k mgr/yr) stars is slightly better

ftp is way better for low volume players in terms of rakeback

but rb/vip rewards really arent all that big a deal for mtt players since they pay a lot less rake than sng or ring players.. no reason to not play mtts on both sites.

I see.

btw this is what i figuredhalf asleep. Its night here in uk.
Whats the equivalent of each FPP and VPP in dollars?

Costs us
1 FPP = $0.2 (1/5 cos 5 FPP for every $ in rake)
1 VPP = $0.2

But,
We gain,
If you want the $1500 bonus on your 100K FPPs, then
1 FPP = $0.015 = 1VPP
(1 FPP = $0.016, if "concierge service" used instead of cash. I have included this as this is the best value if what u r looking for costs about 3K, etc.)

I am comparing FPPs and VPPs simultaneously with real $, to get an idea of overall value from FPP shopping (FPP store) and elite membership benefits (VPP - packages worth $30K, etc).
So overall, 1 FPP + 1 VPP = 0.015 + 0.015 = $0.03

about 15% rakeback

Once elite, you earn 20 FPPs for $1 rake.
i.e.
Costs us
1 FPP = $0.05
1 VPP = $0.2
Gain,
1FPP = $0.015
+
1 VPP = $ ??
$28,000($12,000+$16,000)packages + WCOOP (worth $2600) + (50000 * 4 + 100,000 *1) Freerolls.

12% if 1 VPP = $0.015 (0.015*1,000,000 = $15000)
as (0.03/0.25)*100 = 12%

But the supernova elite package is worth more than $30,600 at least.
Hence,
1 VPP at supernova elite level amounts to $0.0306 at least. (30,600/1,000,000)

Therefore, total "rakeback" now = (0.015+0.0306)/0.25 x 100 = 18.24% at least.

btw if you are looking for exact #'s:

fpp is worth approximately 1.6 cents

each $ in tourney fees gives 5 fpps plus whatever bonus from vip levels, so rb is pretty easy to figure out for tournaments.

bronze: 8% rb
silver: 12% rb
gold: 16% rb
platinum: 20% rb
supernova: 28% rb
SNE: 40% rb

theres also some value from freerolls etc and if you start getting to the 200k+ vpp tiers you get significant value from cash bonuses
