Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
I live in western Washington a play live at card rooms and casinos (most of which are north of Seattle). Here are the places I have played and what I think about each. If you have played at any of these or others in the area please give your $0.02 about them.
Red Dragon (Lynnwood on Hwy 99) This is where I play the most. It is an ok place to play. It can get very loose and aggressive on weekend nights and is loose passive during the day. There are a few tough player occasionally (meaning they are better than me, which might not say much). It is clean and the comped food is pretty good. They play mostly 3/6, 3/6 kill, 4/8 and sometimes 6/12. There are 4 tables which are generally full weekend nights and pretty empty during the day. Royal Casino (Everett on Hwy 99) There is usually only 1 table playing here and a lot of black jack (which I don’t play). I’ve only played there 3 times and each time it was loose passive. It is kind of dingy, but if the game is full it seems like a good place to pick up some $. I played 3/6 here. Great American Casino (Everett on 128th) I have played here about 10 times or so and have found it to have a good mix of players. A few tough ones (not often), a few of LAGs, a few rocks and a bunch of LP players. I have had mixed results here, but I think it was my on bad play at the time. I don’t think it would have matter where I played. They have 3/6, 3/6 kill, and 4/8 (maybe some others but I don't know). SKYWAY PARK BOWL AND CASINO I went down to this place to try out some 2/4. Whoa! Scary! I'm pretty sure there was some cheating going on. When I left @ around 1am there was about 6 cop cars surrounding the place. It looked like drug dealers and prostitutes on the corners. Needless to say I haven't been back. Drift on Inn Casino (Shoreline on Hwy 99) This is a dingy little hole in the wall. The tables are crappy and the dealers are...new. The play is loose passive (tight passive at times too). They have mostly 4/8 and sometimes 3/6. It is an ok place to play. There is a lot of noise because of the sports betting (horse races mostly). Club Hollywood (Shoreline on Hwy 99) I've never played here, but it is right next door to the Drift on Inn. It looks like they mostly play 4/8 and there are many tables and they tend to be full (I've only been there Fri & Sat nights). It also looks like most people here play with $400-$1000 @ a time when they play 4/8. Anyone know how the games are here? Evidently they play 3/6, 4/8, 5/10, 10/20. I've only ever notice 4/8, but I didn't hangout long. If you know anything about these places or have ideas for better and/or softer places to play in this area please post away. |

Re: Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
The Royal is just $2-$8 spread limit now, as is The Club (near Everett Mall). At the Royal, they drop $3+$2, even shorthanded. I stopped in one night, sat in a 4-handed game, noticed how much they were dropping, asked for a reduction, was declined, so I left.
For 3/6 or 4/8, I go to Tulalip. For 8/16 or higher, Parker's. These are the only places with 3+1 drop, every place else is 3+2. (On the North end) -- Kevin |

How soft is Tulalip? |

Re: Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
Parker's is by far the best Seattle-area cardroom to play, and it's not far from Lynnwood. However, neither is Tulalip since you're so far north, so you should probably check it out too, since it's a full casino on Indian land.
The games are soft everywhere, man. 3/6-8/16 aren't exactly too difficult. If you can get through Small Stakes Hold 'em you should have no problem at least breaking even. |

Re: Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
Nice review. I didn't realize Washington has so many casinos, but they're everywhere, especially when you include the mini casinos and tribal casinos.
I play at the Muck on the weekend. (3-5 SL) |

Re: Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
the great american casino has some friendly staff and soft tournaments. i never had trouble there. i like it because it's right there in the middle of my commute. their triple jackpot hours are worth staying up late for. the average players are very susceptible to 2nd-leveling at that hour. great fun.
is the red dragon in kind of a big parking lot next to a greek or lebanese restaurant? i could be way off... i only went once. |

I have never been to Diamond Lils whats the scoop there? I wanna play some omaha hi/lo and heard they run it there regularly. |

Re: Washington Casino/Card Room Reviews
I went to the Red Dragon last night to just to study some play, work on reading hands and player styles. It was crazy. Every table was extremely loose.
I'll break down Table 1 for my own edification: 3/6 kill Seat 1: (9,9) [complete mainiac] This guy saw more than 90% of the flops and raised 80% of those. Seat 2: (9,9) [also a mainiac] This girl was drunk and would raise in the dark about every 5-7 hands. She played much like Seat 1. Seat 3: (8,8) [a little less insane] This girl, who seemed be friends with the 1st 2 seats, was also drunk and would call more than the 1st 2, but would raise fairly often, with nothing. Seat 4: (7/8,8) This guy was less loose preflop, but would bet away even when his hand didn’t hit anything thru the river. Seat 5: (7,7) This is a young loose aggressive player who like the 1st 4 seat is loud. He is sitting with about $1100 at a 3/6 table (rack of $5 chips and a rack of $1 chips). He keeps pissing off the floor (who runs chips) by asking for a rack of 100 $1 and then when he gets up 100 asks for a stack of 20 $5s, back and forth. He was spewing chips pretty much the whole time I watched and seemed to be down ~$800 – $900 when I left (~2hrs). Seat 6: (4/6,6/4) This lady is a regular and plays an average game. She seems to hang around too long after the flop sometimes, but in this game it was probably the right thing to do. I don’t think she changed her style much to play in this extremely loose aggressive game, because I pretty much noticed the same kind of play with the same kind of hands as when I played with her in loose or tight passive games. Seat 7: (3, 5) This guy seemed like he was trying to adjust his game to catch one of those enormous pots on a big draw. He would pull decent pots and didn’t seem to pay too much in. I watched him more closely and was able to read a few of his hands. This was my goal of the night. I was trying to get better at reading hands, which was hard with the crazy play. Seat 8: (3, ?) This guy didn’t play very many hands that I can remember. He did seem to be on tilt because when he hit a full house on the turn he showed it to Seat 1 on the river when Seat 1 bet into him. Amazing. Seat 9: (?,?) I can’t remember who was even sitting there. I do know that this person wasn’t very aggressive. They were all at the other end of the table. Seat 10: (6, 3) Loose passive player who just kept feeding the pots. He didn’t have a chance. I wish I knew these peoples names. |
