Losing Weight
Is losing weight as simple as burning more calories than you take in? I've been tracking my diet on fitday.com and have lost about 8 pounds in a month by consuming about 2000 calories and burning close to 4000 a day. Can I expect to keep this up for some amount of time?

Re: Losing Weight
Change your activity level to sedentary for a more realistic number of calories you're burning. Assuming you're actually burning "only" 3400 calories, then the numbers come out right.

Re: Losing Weight
Yes, but remember your BMR will decrease as you lose weight so you'll need to lift/run more to make up for this. Also, you should not exceed a 1000 caloric deficit per day or you could risk losing muscle and ruining you metabolism.

Re: Losing Weight
Yeah I changed my activity level to sedentary which gave me values of around 2000 intake and 3000 burn so this seems to make more sense. Also I've heard that if you burn 500 calories more than you take in each day for a week you will lose one pound. Since I've been burning on average 1000 calories a day this would make sense with me losing 8 pounds in four weeks.
