Re: Spread Limit Q\'s
[ QUOTE ]
So, the best line with a 3 betting hand is to raise the max always? [/ QUOTE ] when in doubt yes If you have any experience playing limit then think more on those lines for a game with a narrower spread like $2 - $20. It should effectivly play like 10/20 limit past the flop. Most NL playeres cant play past the flop anyway so once a raised pot happens, (a few limps, raise and a couple callers) the pot is already bloated past the max bet and they get very unsure of what to do beside bet the max/raise the max and complain as they get drawn out on, correctly or incorrectly. I played a 5-25 spread limit game at Potawatami last year (with a kill even!) that was just golden. It was all NL players waiting for seats in the 2/5 game. I'm suprised some of the higher limit (10/20 limit) weren't getting in on it. Almost every pot was $25+ on the flop. After about 2 orbits I adjusted and played it like $25/$25 limit w/ a $5 ante and did very well. edit - excellent read on the 5-150 game |

Re: Spread Limit Q\'s
The only spread limit game in Vegas I've heard of is the 2-6 at Excalibur. Are there any others?

Re: Spread Limit Q\'s
Not much Spread Limit in Vegas but it is big at the Indian casinos here in Minnesota.
As others here say, I like it because many people don't understand it's subtile differences from no-limit and limit. Biggest mistakes are calling max bets after limping with marginal hands and chasing with terrible odds because there is only like $10 in the pot after the flop (if everyone limped) and they shouldn't be calling a max bet after the flop to chase second pair and bad draws but they do. |

[/ QUOTE ] I play spread limit all most exclusivly, mostly 1-4, 1-5, and 2-10. This is post is pretty good assesment of the game. You can play a few more marginal hands and call the blind particular if the bind is a single $1 or $2 blind if there is no raise, but you need to fold a lot of missed hands, fishing trips ALWAYS cost money and you seldom catch anything. Also be ready to lose to really poor starting hands that stay in to the River. Spread limits seem to attract a fair number of River rats. When you have a great hand you need to be aggressive and bet, raise, check raise to make enough to offset the pots you lose from the suck outs. |

Re: Spread Limit Q\'s
Only one I have played is 2-6 at the Excalibur, and it is still going strong.
I'd be surprised if T.I. had a 4/8 game going let alone a 2-20 spread game, but maybe they have become a decent room, no idea. |
