Re: NL 25 AKs FD + 2 overcards at paired board
You have to decide to either fold or push here. Have you seen villain raise any other hands post flop? His stats are donkish, so there is a definite chance he is trying to protect a pair of jacks here, in which case youre a favorite.

I meant he paired a jack. I would think you'd be ahead of a reasonable range here, if only slightly. Enough for a push to give you some value simply due to the pot size.

why just fold/push? i mean, call and look out for a fifth diamond. in my opinion you can't put him on JJ/J6 so i am not worried about a boat.

If you're not worried about a boat, get the money in as a favorite against villain's pair of jacks.

If you're not worried about a boat, get the money in as a favorite against villain's pair of jacks. [/ QUOTE ] The trouble is that based on OP's read, a six is definitely within his range. You're flipping against a hand like QJ/JT, about 57/43 against AJ/KJ, and only 25-30% against a random six. Getting all of your money in on the flop is definitely -EV. Furthermore, even if he stacks off every time you hit a diamond on the turn, and he never catches up on the river, you don't have implied odds to call his flop bet. Heartbreaking, I know, but this has to be folded. |

Re: NL 25 AKs FD + 2 overcards at paired board
Probably only a slight chance he's bluffing so the best you can hope for here is 15 outs, therefore a slight favorite. However it's highly likely that you're worse off than that, therefore pretty easy fold IMO. Pushing just won't show a profit.
UTGs raise puts in $10 out of a stack of $23.05, he's pretty committed to the pot, calling is probably worse than pushing. |
