ja,

you live in san diego, why do you have so many pairs of closed toed footware?

[/ QUOTE ]

Open Toe footwear is for girls. Seriously I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of sandals/flip flops/crocs/etc..

I lived on the beach near Pismo last year, if I was going to the beach I wore Nike's to the sand, and no shoes to the water.

Guys should just say no to thongs, footwear and otherwise imo.

i feel that saying 'open toe footwear is for girls' is wrong, but I can't help but agree with you. Guys wearing sandals annoys me for some reason,

I guess I just get the heeby jeebies when I see a pair of giant sized hairy hobbit feet in a pair of sandals...

Im surprised that there is any doubt that shoes matter. Buy a 2000 $ suit and wear it with some 40 $ shoes from Walmart. Looks like crap. White tennis socks would also convince everyone with eyes to see that you dont get it. Details matter. Several years ago it was part of a dresscode in management: you want this job? you better wear those shoes (from hungary).

cianosheehan: what brands are the first two of your shoes. They are great.
And of course: here are some of my favorites.

Cheers. They are both Ask The Missus from Office. Office have shops in Ireland and the UK. Here are the links;

brown ones
white ones

I really like these two, especially the last one. What are they?

the brown one is from snipe (spanish brand) and the last one is from paul smith. i have them for a few years now, so i guess you wont find them easily. If you like this kind of shoes, check out trippen.com, currently my most favorite shoe brand. Its not only the style, but the quality as well.
Hey, and that office link is just great.

btw: that is one further plus for good shoes: you can wear them for many, many years.

yah - back when i was playing a lot it was always copas when it was dry and puma king screw-ins when it was wet. both felt like i was barefoot. i was just surprised that people still wore them considering all the dudes on tv these days look like they're wearing moon boots.

I'll have a look at those links later. Re Office shoes, they are not the most durable. But they arent the dearest either

You guys are lucky to be able to buy whatever kind of shoes you want whenever you see some you like. For those of us who need size 50 (this can range from size 14 to 16.5 in the US) shoes, we're not so lucky.

Here are my current dress shoes:

Here are my current "walking around" shoes:

These suck, since the leather is hard, and have fallen out of use:

These were fairly OK with new insoles, but the brand obviously sucks and they're not made very well:

I can't find a picture of the $80 Ecco shoes that I found in my size at a Marshalls for $3. They were comfortable and lasted about a year and a half. They were quite non-baller, but I liked them and would buy them again.

I'm in the market for some "walking around" shoes that look like soccer shoes but aren't. I think that's fairly descriptive. A decent pair of Pumas would do just fine, if they ever made anything over size 12 or 13.

I'm also in the market for some replacements for the brunos (top pic), and like about 20% of the ferragamo designs out there, but can't get a straight answer on which models are even available in my size. Nordstrom Online pisses me off because they have nothing in my size, and the stores randomly carry various brands/shoes in my size. The vegas store even has a nice sign talking about how they carry ferragamos in extended sizes, but none of the models I want happened to be in stock.

Anyhow, I hope it's clear that I'm stuck with crappy footwear for a reason.
