Default 8/6s in SB w limpers but I\'m shortstacked......

My question is push or fold.

Happened to me in a live $100 tourney this weekend. Blinds are 500/1000(no ante)I've got 5300. 2 players in MP w stacks around 7000 limp,They have just been moved to my table,so I have no read on them whatsoever, although have a feeling limper no 2 is a donk.

We are still at 4 tables,so no money in sight, blinds will be up in about 15 mins. Any suggestions ladies and gentlemen?

I'd probably wait for a better hand. If you think anybody is a donk and will call with a wide range, you probably want to have a hand that is better than average. Maybe if you had some kind of PP it would be better. However, with your stack compared to the blinds, it may be correct to go all-in with any two and hope to double up, or win the blinds.

Is it terrible to complete here and see a flop?

I think I'm often doing this here in this spot, but I started thinking this is a leak, because of the following reasons:

- BB might take a shot here and shove it (unlikely, admitted).
- Flop comes 1084, what do you do? Lead out, fold to a raise? You cannot do that with these stack sizes, so you would have to shove it on such a flop. And multiway, a guy holds 10 everytime.
- If you wait for a Q86 flop, an OESD or a FD to shove it, you haven't got pot odds to complete PF IMO.

So basically, calling here is -EV I think, because of the reasons stated above. With these stack sizes you gotta shove it PF if you wanna play this hand.

But yeah, folding is right imo as well...

i'd push because people fold... no one dumb enough to open limp a 7x stack is calling your push, because zomg tournament life etc

I'd call. Also you don't need 2 pair to continue on this flop like someone else said. Plenty of one pair, draw type flops are fine with such a stack size.

I agree, but the point I was making: Do the pot odds PF, also taking our stack into account, match the odds we get to hit a nice flop we can play OOP with, against so many limpers? Just very theoretically, I think it doesn't... Do you still think this is always +EV call?

i dont mind a call
you got a nice hand wich can bail you out shortstack if you hit the flop

i guess shoving sometimes isnt all that bad either seeing you got a stack that can really hurt the limpers
