More value in checking?
$50/100 online 5 handed. I'm new to the site and we've played a few orbits so I'm mostly unknown.
Folded to me in the SB and I raise it up with the mighty Q8o, big blind calls. Q42 flop with the 42 of diamonds. I bet, villain raises and I 3 bet. He calls. Turn is a 9, bet/call. River is an offsuit 7. Is there more value in checking here to induce a bluff from busted flush and straight draws or should I mostly bet here getting value from hands with a pair. In a live game I'd usually bet since it seems that people are more likely to give up on a missed draw live. |

Re: More value in checking?
I agree with your reasoning and I think value check/calling is a good line, but I can't help but bet here b/c you are apt to see so many times online HU that you will get called down with as little as K high.

Re: More value in checking?
Kind of unclear whether you bet/called the turn, or you bet and he called.

Re: More value in checking?
If I ever checked here it would be to check/raise.

Re: More value in checking?
anyone with half a brain wont bet this river bc you defined your hand on the flop. desite what most think, even the fish have a brain.
