Player bleeds on the rail. CAZ goes into \'RED ALERT!!!\'
Small story but curious and I'm wondering if this goes on at any other card room:
Yesterday a player (who said he'd injured himself fishing the day before) had his boo-boo open up somehow and started to bleed onto the table rail. The dealer got real excited when he saw the blood and told the player 'Don't try to wipe it off. Move away from the table. I SAID DON'T TRY TO WIPE IT OFF AND MOVE AWAY FROM THE TABLE!' So the player stops trying to wipe it off and moves away from the table. He is told to go up front, tell a security guy that he needs medical attention, the EMT's come to him and bandage him up real good and, in the meantime, a cleaning lady comes over with plastic gloves and some shpritz and wipes everything thoroughly clean. So I ask the dealer what's up with this and he tells me that if anybody bleeds on anything they have this procedure. If he bleeds on the felt they've got to rip the thing off and put on a new one. Of course the old, bleeding guy is saying 'I don't have aids' and stuff like that but this is the way CAZ responds and I suppose it's the safest thing to do (which I appreciate) but I'm wondering if anyplace else reacts the same way. ps: Bleeding guy missed the entire down. I tell him he should ask to be able to not pay time for the next down. Floor guy says he's got to pay, the rest of us say 'booooo', floor guy says he's got to pay but then let's him slide when collection time comes around. Yay for floor guy. |

[/ QUOTE ] This should happen at the Taj when after somebody finishes their chicken fingers and onion rings! They should also give the chips a scrubdown once in a while. |

I once saw a guy fall over in a poker room and EMTs were called in. He was lying on the floor for a couple minutes, and nobody in the room really seemed to notice and all the games kept going. It was really bizzare and it wouldn't happen anywhere but a casino.

its called universal precaution. The idea is that you assume the worst.
In the case of bodily fluids, you assume that they are contaminated by hazardous bioagents and use precautions based on that assumption. Helps avoid spreading stuff like Hepatitis. |

Thats the procedure any where in a public store or any place really. Just because you don't know what they have and you don't want to risk it.
