Bought one about a month ago at a Circuit City in Buena Park, CA for $225. Brand new, NOT refurbished. They had two when I went, no display, no price. Had to get someone to check the price for me. I was told they're being discontinued, so I guess they're quietly clearing out the old ones. They thought the new model was going to be back up in the mid-$300s.

Possibly, but like I said, they had no display model, and they scanned it right off the box. They don't have it online...I'm assuming they're clearing it out. I wonder if it really sells that well, I don't know how many non-poker players know/care about 1600 x 1200 resolution. The fact that, AFAIK, only Samsung and Dell make a model with that resolution seems to bear that out. Maybe they're worried about being stuck with old models when the new come in?

Or maybe you're right, and someone effed it up.

Not to discount what you say man, but I think anyone who buys the 204B, or the 2001FP, gets it for the resolution. The ones with the 1650 x 1050 are much cheaper.

I agree...that was sort of my point, although I don't think I made it well. Perhaps many other people don't appreciate the higher resolution they're getting, so they're unwilling to pay the price, and the model doesn't sell well. That would mean CC would want to make sure they cleared them out and didn't get stuck with a bunch of an older model. Just speculating, of course.

I bought a new 2001fp on ebay last year, no complaints at all. I don't know if that makes me lucky, crazy or both.
