Default can lower variance overcome higher total rake

I mostly play NL SNG's but limit holdem is where I have spent most of my time learning the game. I have read several dozen posts and several hundred responses and the prevailing thought seems to be that it is better for most players to multi table at several lower limit games versus one middle limit game i.e. three 5/10's versus one 15/30 to lower variance. My question is that if you are multi tabling the three tables versus the one you are subject to three times the rake in theory. Can the lower variance overcome the increased rake of playing three tables versus one?

Default Re: can lower variance overcome higher total rake

I think you are asking the wrong question.

No, lower variance can't overcome higher rake.

A higher winrate can overcome higher rake.

Not all variance is bad. If you really hate variance, then gambling isn't for you.
