You tards and your 20% standard. Kiss my ass.

I understand the USA has created some screwed up retarded system where prices don't include sales tax and tipping to pay for waiters wages is normal, but I'm slowly coming around to the idea that this whole thing is just dumb and I no longer want to take part in it.

Obviously, I can't, because I look like a huge [censored] douchebag, but 15% is definitely the upper-end of my tipping scale now for restaurants unless the place is super cheap. The rest of the world just does this whole song and dance so much better it is kind of ridiculous.

I tip most of the time, it's standard here to give 15% at restaurants and such, tho I don't give that much usually. I will if the service was great, like last night I took a taxi home with a 37" LCD and the guy helped me up the stairs with it, so I gave him 5.00 on a 25.00 ride.

lol wtf are you serious?

5 dollars on a 25 cab ride is standard for me - i tip pretty much 20% on everything. if the driver helps me carry something up the stairs, he's getting 10 easily just for the help, let alone the standard tip on the ride - i'd probably give him 40.

I am generally a very big tipper. I don't look at it as "society makes it so I have to tip, so I do". The better way to look at it is, "I am fortunate that I don't have to do the things that these people do just to make a living, and to show my appreciation, I'm going to give them a couple extra bucks so they can live a little more comfortably."

I waited tables up untill a year ago while in school. Waiters make 2.13 hr. If you plan on frequenting a place regularly and expect your severice to be worth a chit, plan onn tipping at least 18%. If you are known to tip less I promisise your return service will not be what you are hoping for. Ill let your food sit there while it could be at your table. Thirsty? good luck. I wouldnt waste my time with cheap people.Tip nothing I wouldnt care. I will make it up off of people worth a damn. If you cant afford to go out and eat stay at home and cook.
