Raise the flop and get this pot HU, and be prepared to bluff all the way if the turn/river blank off. [/ QUOTE ] standard imo |

You probably have to bet the river unimproved too (even though I don't think a T is going to fold on a T-high board) just in case the guy has a high [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] draw. |

Re: I mix it up a little. QJs UTG.
[ QUOTE ]
Another 2p2er and I were discussing how we play strong draws, and I said I usually play ram-and-jam, and he said that he usually raises the turn. I'm in a really good 20/40 must-move at the Borgata. BB seems decent, everyone else is LP or LAG. I have Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG. I think about calling, then about folding, and then I finally decide I'm going to raise, since I'll get called from much worse and my hand plays well in the inevitable multiway pot that will happen after I raise. Next guy in calls, blinds call. Flop T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, BB bets, I call, planning on raising any turn. Too risky? [/ QUOTE ] this depends whether you are going for bluff value or pure ev. You have an edge with two overcards and an open end draw against someone who has made one pair with the board on the flop. After you miss on the turn, you have no edge with one card to come. Out of position with these hands I believe in taking Sklansky's general turn advice: tend to check hands with outs and bet hands that if already beaten have no outs. |

Re: I mix it up a little. QJs UTG.
Um yeah, what everyone else said.
For the record, I think doing above the rim crap in Borgata 20 40 is really dumb for the most part. Even the better players in that game have showdownitis, especially if they see you as a young punk who loves raising turns. |
