Seriously, this could happen to anyone who discovers online poker. Back when I started playing 1 year 1/2 ago, I lost maybe $1200 in one night, which was a decent amount at that time. I deposited $600 on paradise, played something insane like 10-20 limit (lol), lost it all. I couldn't deposit anymore, so I deposited on party and lost 600 again. Horrible night. Then I stopped playing for 6 months, but when I started again I bought some books and decided to learn the game. Who knows what would have happened to me if there weren't deposit limits... I had 20k in my account but needed those for my tuition.
