Default Why do sites offer rakeback?

Poker sites make money by charging rake. Why would they wanna give away a big percentage of those money by offering their players a 25-35% rakeback? I dont get it, whats in for them?

Sites do not pay RB to players..Sites pay affiliates to drive traffic to there site..Affiliates as a marketing tool offer to pays the player a % of what the site pays them...
