BB is 25/5 filtered for full ring. I felt in my gut that he didn't like that Ace so I went for it.

Flop raise is not good, save it for the turn.

Turn bet isn't big enough to fold anything you don't beat.

River bet is a nice spew.

He's called the flop and turn bet - he's not going away on the river. Likely this is ace-not good kicker that he is not going to fold.

I don't have a big problem with the raise on the flop, but after he calls you need to check the turn and river.

It's not that I think I'm psychic or something, I believe my gut feelings come from my subconscious processing information from things I've seen thousands upon thousands of times. Namely, timing tells and betting patterns. NL adds another variable in bet sizing. Since just recently moving to NL from limit I'm actually trying to learn to trust my instincts a whole lot more.

One of the reasons I maintained a decent win rate in limit while having less than ideal preflop stats was because I trusted my gut instincts more than most.

It looks like everybody agrees that I played it horrible. Its extremely rare for me to try to push a better hand out, but I felt so confident it would work here.

He looked me up with QQ.

I probably would have bet more on the turn if its a 9 or lower and would have given up on a Q or K so the J was a pretty bad card for me.
