approx 40,000 cancelled subscriptions since the suspension

That hardly seems accurate. Considering that only 485 people signed the cancellation guest book...

Even if the 40,000 is accurate that's a whopping 0.5% of XM subscribers. Boy, I'm sure they are worried.

I'll say it again, XM wanted to get rid of them. This was an excuse. Some of you have no clue how corporations like this work. It's all about covering your ass. They are trying to fire them with "just cause" so they don't have to pay them.

CBS ratings aside, it's been confirmed that O+A are the number one show on XM. Why would they want to get rid of them?

You think Golden Boy Stern really wants them around after the merger? Sat radio has put all their eggs in his basket, so what he says goes.

i haven't listened to o&a since they got thrown off the air in 2002 - i'm kind of glad. while i loved the show, too much of it was drivel, waiting around for jim norton to come up with yet another brilliant line.

but norton's usage of references and incredible metaphors is easily as intelligent as any stand-up comedian working today - he's not a genius, but he has a way with words.
