Default Blind Defense turned Semi Bluff

Hero holds Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the small blind.

Folded to MP3 who open raises, CO and Button fold, I opt to call (3-bet?) BB calls.

Flop comes 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, BB Checks, PF Raisers Bets, I raise BB Folds Raiser calls.

Turn is an Icky King[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet

Fold preflop.

Fold the flop.

Since you somehow reached the turn with Queen-high and a gutshot draw, sure, [censored] it, bet.

Also, try to limit hand posts to two per day. Three would be good only if 1) they're all interesting or 2) you assist in some other players' hands. Our advice isn't really free.

Dont 3-bet preflop.

Check/call the flop.

Check/fold the turn.

Our particularlly helpful if you thinking folding PF is the best move - but to your credit, you've nailed condesending and pompus.

If I don't take action PF to defend the pot, don't you think I need to try on the flop at some point (assuming i feel the flop is in my favor).

With two overs and a gutshot against a wide range of hands the raiser can have - wouldn't this be a good spot?

You should learn how to post better before you go popping off at the people you are asking for help.

Include whatever reads you have. Including what the table is playing like if it induced you to make a non-standard decision. Tell us what your thoughts were at the key decision points. Like why you didn't try to get rid of BB by 3-betting pre-flop or why you c/r the flop. You should be the 3rd or 4th post in your own thread to respond to the people who are trying to offer you help. Don't just post a bunch of hands and then only duck back in to call someone a meany.

Did you bother to ask why someone thought folding suited broadway for 1.5 SB with a small field was good? Did you tell someone why folding them would be bad? Or did you just try and be funny?

Uhm...

you're in the SB, meaning you'll get 3.5:0.75 or 4.6:1 on your call, being terribly oop. I probably call, but it's by no means a huge mistake folding this.

On the flop, you get ~6:1, right? Call.

If you want helpful without condescending and pompous you might want to avoid the attitude.

Marchon is right about the preflop fold. I disagree with him on the flop fold, but I don't think it's a raise either.

You learn more by responding to hands then by putting up a ton of hands. Expecting us to give you all the answers so that you can magically become a winner doesn't help you. Neither does attacking quality posters.

Over 186 times I got dealt QJs, I've been a 0.1BB/hand winner. Filtering for those times I played it from the BB and against a raise, I'm an overall loser - less than the .5BB investment of the BB, but a loser nontheless. You got even worse position and even less monetary involvement in the pot.

Try again...
