i have never been as excited to see a television show as i am to see next week's LOST.

Thoughts

1- The blowing up the tree was retarded. What point does that make beyond "hey look, we've got [censored] that we can blow stuff up with!?".

2- Still no clue why people listen to Jack at all.

3- Make Rose and Bernard go away. They're not cute, they're annoying, and they just stretch a show that already has slightly too much going on. Openly rooting for Bernard to be dead.

4- Beyond that I liked the ep a lot. I thought Charlie was at his least annoying in a long time. They've still got us on their toes, and that's cool.

5- I don't trust Desmond one bit.

agree with most of this. I give this episode a 7, just b/c of the way they treated Charlie. otherwise it was just ok.

however, I trust Desmond. he's my favorite character, and I suspect the Desmond/Penny relationship will become one of the most important theme for the next 2 seasons.

there will be:

- wtf is this island all about
- who are the natives, and what is their deal
- Penny finding her "Lost" love, Desmond

This episode was just a link to the final episode. Not as good as the last 5 or so episodes but they had to have a bridge type episode eventually.

I think that's true, I just think that Desmond's loyalty is greater to her than it is to anybody else. He's come close to selling Charlie down the river before, and I think he might do it again.

I think there is a lot of that going on - ie a lot of characters are more interested in 'selfish' things than anything else.

Bens loyalty is to the island.
Jin and Suns loyalty is to each other.
Juliette's loyalty is to her sister

at the end, many of them have things they value more the other people they have met on the island.
