Ugly bubble spot in PLO tourney
I think this has more to do with tournament dynamics than it does with omaha play, so I'm posting it here.
$55 stars PLO tournament, 18 started, we're down to 4. Payouts are similar to a 1 table sng, 50:30:20, so $450, $270, $180. Converter had serious issues with the hand, sorry. PokerStars Game #9939897834: Tournament #50007671, $50+$5 Omaha Pot Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2007/05/16 - 08:01:53 (ET) Table '50007671 2' 9-max Seat #9 is the button Seat 1: andreas777 (9240 in chips) Seat 4: bismillahno (8100 in chips) Seat 6: Gaminator (1520 in chips) Seat 9: G.U.N.W.A.R. (8140 in chips) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of 100. shorty limps UTG (not uncommon in PLO), Button limps too, then SB pots it for 1000. If I repot I'm going to be forced to call a shove that is almost certainly AAxy, but I think I'll fold out any weaker hands, including kings. I'm pretty certain shorty and button will go away to a repot, but button will probably hang around if I call. SB has been moderately active but he's no maniac, shorty has generally be playing very tightly, button seems passive and kinda fishy. I just don't like any of my options too much, folding seems very weak, a call will leave me probably struggling to know where I stand. If I repot I'm going to either win a smallish pot or get it in way behind against someone who can bust me.The bubble here is significant and there is a nice short stack I can wait out if I want. Re: Ugly bubble spot in PLO tourney
I'm not repopping unless to let SB open up the betting again. I'd probably fold but I think with the shorty calling and folding are both reasonable whereas repopping is just spew. Whether to call or fold depends on how likely I think SB can be taken off the hand and who else I think will come along.
